Its a wonderful machine, i tried smaller devices and given up on them as their keyboards and screens are just too awkward. The only time i have exhibited the core shutdown problem was when i was trying to play a from an attached ipod, interestingly the mac external dvd drive with a dvd film worked perfectly.Stuttering is caused when the second core shuts down because the hardware is getting too hot.On my macbook pro i installed a little fan control program which works extremely well, not yet tried this on the air yet though.
